> darrell louis morgan: drums and percussion

Darrell is a Texas-born drummer who earned an AA degree from St. Philips College, before continuing his academic studies at Texas Southern University where he graduated with a BA degree in Music Education with an emphasis on percussion. Being introduced to the brass, woodwind, and string family of instruments helped to further develop his interest in composition. He composed, arranged, and directed the original musical score for the theater production of “The Diary of Black Men.” For several years, this play toured throughout the US, Off-Broadway, and abroad in London. He has been inspired by Duke Ellington, John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Miles Davis, Weather Report, VSOP, and Return to Forever. He has a love for World Music, including African, Cuban, Brazilian, and Asian melodies and rhythm.

> david wendell boykins: spoken word

David is a director, producer, writer, and actor. His acting has put him theatrical productions from Washington, DC to Los Angeles and Off-Broadway. As a writer, his latest short file, “Concrete River,” made the San Diego Film Festival. He has written three plays, two feature films, and was cast in the TLC TV show “Sex Sent Me to the ER.” In 2003, his first play, “APPLAUSE For Miss E,” was selected for the National Black Theatre Festival Reader’s Series. In 2004, he directed the theater production of his first play, receiving two nominations from ADA Awards: Best Ensemble Cast-Comedy and Author of an Original Play. His play received three nods from the NAACP Theater Awards Committee and is currently out on DVD.

> queala clancy: dance and choreography

Queala is a graduate of Wright State University with a BFA in Liberal Arts. Queala has performed with X-pressions Dance Company, Donn Arden’s Jubilee, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, and Lula Washington Dance Theater. She has also traveled to Hawaii, Poland, China, Brazil, and Russia. She is currently an instructor, performer, and assistant to Lula Washington and dance faculty at the American Musical Dramatic Academy.

> annabel: vocals

Annabel is a powerful presence with a sensual voice. She has traveled in Europe and Asia, and is well-versed in straight-ahead classic to modern jazz, folk, and classical genres. She’s an accomplished lyricist and composer, fronting her pet project with collaborator and husband Richard E. The duo has recently signed a long-term recording and publishing deal with leading independent label, Ninja Tune. While providing her own lyrics, Annabel performs standards unusual for singers, such as the works of John Coltrane, Miles Davis, and Wayne Shorter. Without a doubt, Annabel simply utilizes all talent and skills that is bestowed upon her.

> dereck mclyn: saxophones

Los Angeles-born saxophonist Dereck has been a lover of jazz since high school, and subsequent education at CSU, Dominguez Hills. He studied multiple woodwind instruments and received a BA degree and teaching credential in Music Education. He’s performed and toured with notable artists in the music industry, including Ray Charles, Bobby Caldwell, Bobby Womack, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Solomon Burke. He is currently a member of the Luckman Jazz Orchestra in residence at CSU, Los Angeles. He is a teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District, where he has taught middle school band and orchestra.

> kyle schafer: piano and keyboards

Kyle is currently studying music at Cal State Long Beach and is a native of Northern California. He has studied under great teachers such as Joe Gilman and George Tricomi in Sacramento, and currently studies with LA jazz piano giants Alan Pasqua and Andy Langham. Kyle is excited to be a new addition to MTG 360°.

> adrian: double and electric bass

Adrian is an upright and electric bass, based in Orange County. He has been a member of MTG 360° since 2012.
